![]() You can cast them at the same times anyway, but once the enchantment is out any spell that makes counters now just read "put X +1/+1 counters on your commander." It also has the added benefit of just turning off many token based decks. Especially Constrictor for its low CMC.Ģ) I think Illness in the ranks is superior to sorcery spells. Also his value is so high that one of two things happen he either eats removal for your commander, or brings him back into a major threat immediately. All 10 of the planeswalkers either draw cards, act as removal, create tokens, or can sacrifice things.ġ) I like Corpsejack Menace, to me he's a good budget alternative to insane cards like Doubling Season. While ], ], and ] are sac outlets you dont see all the time. Things like ], ], and ] are hard to remove token makers. Even though its golgari, there is very little recursion or creatures. ![]() I still have 10 planeswalkers, including all the Garruks, along with a bunch of token makers and sac outlets. I switched to Mazirek because I was already sacrificing stuff a lot, so his ability let's le go tall and wide at the same time. It became more and more of a token deck that tries to go wide to protect my planeswalkers and the aristocrats subtheme just came naturally with trying to get value out of tokens. It started as a superfriends deck lead by ] based around Garruk planeswalkers. I too have a Mazirek deck, just built it and its quickly becoming one of my favorites. Overall a very satisfying deck to play and didn't get boring after over a year of playing it every edh night The deck doesn't easily trample over other creatures, but you get in with a lot of damage because you go wide and force your opponents to sacrifice with mass sacrifice effects like ] or ] etc. In total I sacrificed 16 creatures, which put 32 counters on my 3 remaining creatures, swinging all for lethal. I sacrificed 4 spawns, giving me 4 mazirek triggers, putting 8 counters on the walker, I sacrificed the walker and get 11 thopters, then I sac all the thopters. Just an example of my last game how explosive this thing can be: I had 6 0/1 eldrazi spawns, my commander, a 3/3 Hangarback Walker, a sac outlet and hardened scales. He's an absolute house but he's overlooked because he was printed in the same deck as meren. I don't have a digital list and my deck is still in my dorm room (f*** you corona virus) so I can't tell you what exactly is inside but cards like ], ], ], ], ], ] and many more go sooooo well with him. It's a mix between token beatdown and aristocrats. He can generate a massive army with little effort, and can be very cheap to build if you're on a tight budget. Those option from the graveyard a big part of what makes decks like these feel like a real dredge deck.I personally play a ] deck he's an amazing commander for casual EDH. I like anything you can cast from the grave, stuff like Demonic Embrace, Corpse Connoisseur, Rotting Rats, even something like Maximize Velocity isnt totally bad as it discards. Going 5 color you would get Unburial Rites and Sevinnes Reclamation targeting Animate/Dance of the Dead as more "prized amalgam" type ways to get threats on the battlefield using nothing but your graveyard. And Lord of Extinction + Berserk can always win some games. It's not going to ever be "competitive" with only combat damage to win but it feels like dredge. Since classic dredge threats like Prized Amalgam and Ichorid are just not going to get there in commander the cards that get big like Lord of Extinction and Sewer Nemesis and the cards you can get from the grave like Hogaak, Centaur Vinecrasher, Dread Return etc do a good job of replicating the playstyle. I love dredge and tried to replicate the playstyle as best I could. This is my dredge list with the 4 color non white nephilim as commander.
